Front door keypad

Schlage Encode

  1. To unlock, enter your code on the touchscreen. Wait for the Home and checkmark icons to flash.
  2. To lock when leaving, press the Lock icon on the outside keypad.
  3. From inside, turn the thumbturn toward the edge of the door to lock, away from the edge to unlock.
  4. At night, press the Home button at the bottom left to light up the keypad.

Thermostat

Google Nest Learning Thermostat

  1. Change the temperature by turning the dial.
  2. Change the mode (Heat, Cool, Heat·Cool, Off): press the thermostat toward the wall, turn to Mode, press, pick a mode, press again.
  3. Heat·Cool keeps the house within a range and switches between heating and cooling on its own.

TVs

Samsung TVs (the one in the basement living room has a Samsung soundbar) · Vizio TVs on the front porch and in the primary bedroom

The Roku remote turns the TV on and off and controls the volume, so it's usually the only remote you need. See Roku.

Samsung TVs

  1. Press Power on the Samsung remote.
  2. To switch to the Roku or game console, press Home, press left, choose Connected Devices, and pick the device.
  3. Volume up or down to adjust, press it to mute. Return goes back.
  4. In the basement living room, the Samsung soundbar turns on with the TV and the TV remote controls its volume.

Vizio TVs

  1. Press Power on the Vizio remote.
  2. Press INPUT, highlight the input you want, and press OK.

Streaming with Roku

Roku Streaming Stick Plus · Guest Mode

Our Rokus use Guest Mode, so you can stream with your own accounts. When your stay ends, the Roku signs you out and erases your info automatically.

Getting started

  1. Turn on the TV with the Roku remote.
  2. The first time, pick your checkout date on the calendar and confirm. You'll be signed out at 11:00 AM that day.
  3. Open or add the apps you want and sign in with your own account.

With 3 Pro Controllers · Mario Kart World

  1. Turn on the TV and switch to the console's input. Press the HOME button on a controller.
  2. Pair a Pro Controller: HOME Menu › Controllers › Change Grip/Order, then hold the SYNC button on the controller for a second. The player light stays on when it's paired.
  3. Or pair with a cable: plug the controller into the dock with the USB-C cable.
  4. Mario Kart World, 2–4 players: start the game, press L + R on the title screen, choose Multiplayer and the number of players, then pick a mode.

Coffee maker

Keurig K-Duo Hot & Iced · pods on one side, a carafe on the other

Single cup (K-Cup pod)

  1. Fill the water tank on the back to the MAX FILL line.
  2. Set your mug on the drip tray. For a tall travel mug, remove the tray.
  3. Lift the handle, drop in a pod, and push the handle all the way down.
  4. Press OZ, pick a size, then press BREW. For bolder coffee press STRONG after choosing a size. For hotter coffee press X-HOT before BREW.

Iced coffee

Fill a plastic tumbler to the top with ice and use the Brew Over Ice setting on the single-cup side. Single cup only, and never brew over ice into a glass.

Full carafe (ground coffee)

  1. Fill the water tank to MAX FILL.
  2. Put a flat-bottom 12-cup paper filter in the filter basket.
  3. Add about 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup, no more than 15 tablespoons.
  4. Set the carafe on the warming plate, press CUPS, pick a size, press BREW.
  5. You can pour mid-brew. Put the carafe back within 20 seconds.
  6. The warming plate stays on for 2 hours. To turn it off sooner, hold CUPS for 3 seconds.

KitchenAid

  1. Plastic items, small plates and bowls go on the upper racks. Knives go handles up.
  2. Put a detergent pod in the main compartment and slide the lid closed.
  3. Pick a cycle: Normal for everyday loads, Express for faster, Tough for baked-on messes.
  4. Close the door and press START/RESUME on the front panel.
  5. The light is blue while washing, red while drying, white when done.
  6. The door pops open on its own when the cycle finishes. That's normal and helps the dishes dry. An open door means it's done.

Toaster oven and air fryer

  1. Flip the oven down. It won't turn on while flipped up.
  2. Press Power, then MODE +/– to choose Air Fry, Bake, Toast, Bagel, Pizza and more.
  3. Set time and temperature with TIME/SLICES and TEMP/SHADE (slices and darkness for toast).
  4. Press START/STOP. Most modes preheat; add food when it beeps.
  5. Air fry with the basket on the top rails and the sheet pan below to catch drips.

Air fryer

Cosori TurboBlaze 6-quart

  1. Check the crisper plate is in the basket and the basket is pushed all the way in.
  2. Press On/Off. To preheat, press PREHEAT then Start/Pause; add food when it shows End.
  3. Pick a function (Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and more) and adjust time and temperature with the arrows.
  4. Press Start/Pause. Pulling the basket out pauses cooking.
  5. Use tongs to remove food. Careful tipping the basket, the hot plate can fall out.

Instant Pot

Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1

  1. Put the steel inner pot in the base. Add food and at least 1½–2 cups of liquid. Never fill above the 2/3 line (½ for rice, beans and pasta).
  2. Turn the lid clockwise to lock and set the steam switch to Seal.
  3. Press Pressure Cook, set the time, and press Start. It takes 10–15 minutes to build pressure.
  4. Release steam by waiting (natural release) or moving the switch to Vent. Keep hands and face clear. Open only when it shows OK to Open Lid.

  1. Unlock the cover and lift it by the handles.
  2. Feel the water with your hand before getting in.
  3. Jets: press JETS (or tap Jets on a touchscreen). They turn off after 1 hour; just turn them back on.
  4. Lights: press LIGHTS (or tap Lights).
  5. Temperature: adjust between 80°F and 104°F. READY means it's within 2°F of the setting.
  6. When you're done, turn the jets off, replace the cover, and lock it.

  1. Press UP or DOWN to change speed. Press OFF to stop.
  2. To reverse airflow, press Fan/R while it's running. It takes about 25 seconds and may wobble briefly.

  1. Take it off the wall mount and press Power.
  2. Press Mode for Eco (about 40 min), Medium (25) or Turbo (13).
  3. For furniture or stairs, press the release button and use the hand vacuum.
  4. Empty the dirt tank over the trash, then return it to the wall mount to charge.

Water leak alarm

Small white sensors near sinks, toilets and the water heater

A loud beeping alarm or flashing red light means a sensor found water. Wipe the sensor and floor dry, look for the source, and text us right away.
